Did You Know...

if you read the Dictionary through from A to Z, you have read every book ever written.

???

Does that sentence make sense?

Is that true?

Probably not. Someone out there will challenge that statement. Wouldn't it be awesome if we could make statements about stuff and no one would challenge what we said? I'm getting tired of people questioning every single word in the world that has ever been written and spoken.....BUT....

I do the same thing. I just can't take things at face value. I can't! I always want proof and truth.

Is that too much to ask?

May I please have a little more proof and truth and a little less speculations and observations?

PLEASE!!

That is all.

I am going to lunch to read the dictionary now.

Dog Alarm

This is one of my project poems that I have been working on. I have about 20 to go and then I'll be finished with phase 1 of my writing. I have an email that I send random ideas to and it is SO full! There is NO order and it contains good stuff, bad stuff, junk, treasures, and words galore! It is crazy to have a head that never shuts off. I wouldn't know any other way to live though and I am so glad that I have had, through my 50 years of living, the structure of God's word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It HAS helped me immensely. God's word tells me exactly how to live and what to do to have order. Do I always do it? NO. But when I take the time to sit down and study it and apply it to my life, DANG!! It really does work ya'll. It REALLY does. It's amazing how applicable it is to any and everyone's life in an eye opening way that can't be explained unless you go through it. I just know that it works and it is truth.

And now, a poem about my dog.
(told you my head never shuts down)

Dog Alarm
by Theresa Arnold

Dark morning
Hoot owl called
Weiner dog
Barked one time

Silence.

Quiet house
Evening time
Weiner dog
Barked one time

Silence.

Afternoon
Around 2:00pm
Weiner dog
Barked one time

Silence.

Writing poetry
Early daytime
Weiner dog
Barked one time

Silence.

All alone
Me and dogs
Weiner dog
Doesn’t bark

Silence.

I guess everything is OK.

August 10th/A Day That Will Not Live in Infamy

Do you EVER use words in the wrong context?

Me too!

I started trying to teach myself how to play my dad's wonderful banjo on August 10th (my mom and dad's wedding anniversary....they would have been married 52 years if they had only stayed alive long enough!)

I was going to entitle this blog:

August 10th/A Day That Will Live in Infamy

Here is the definition of the word "infamy":

infamy: extremely bad reputation, public reproach, or strong condemnation as the result of a shameful, criminal, or outrageous act: a time that will live in infamy.

Actually, this COULD be correct depending on how good/bad I sound.

Anyway, August 10th is the day!!

Banjo Bound!

I cried when I got dad's banjo out of the closet and out of its case and onto my lap. First of all, it sounded HORRIBLE. Has not been tuned in literally YEARS! Also, the banjo that I got when he died was his Gibson RB 800 that he played until mom died in 2002. He played that banjo from 1970-2002. After mom died, he bought a Stelling Staghorn that was WAY TOO LOUD, I thought. He loved it. The Gibson is much BETTER even though the Stelling is monetarily worth more money. Money and good instruments sometimes don't walk hand in hand. My brother wanted and received the Stelling with no ill will from me at all.

Can I do it? I think the thing that scares me the most is that I think that I CAN!!
