Original Song/Poem Thursday♥Week #7

We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we
ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great
treasure. This makes it clear that our great power
is from God, not from ourselves.
II Corinthians 4:7

Brokenness

Broken pieces
Various shapes
Numerous dimensions

Pasted on the ground
Collectively individual
Creating one visual scene

Mournful reminders
Of what used to be
And what will never be again

The broken pieces of life
Collect in the bottom of souls
Reminding us of our past

Painful or pleasant pieces
Brokenness can create beauty
If we allow it the opportunity.

Stephen King
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod
and your staff, they comfort me.
Psalms 23:4

I HAD to put a bible verse that dealt
with FEAR.
Stephen King is an EXTRAORDINARY writer.
His words can cause hearts to beat
wildly, sleepless nights,
and head trauma! What a gift he possesses
to be able to write in such a way that other people can actually FEEL something.....even if it is total FEAR!
King was born on 9/21/47 in Portland, Maine. He has published 55 books that have sold over 350 MILLION
copies. I bet his mind never shuts down.
Amazing!
I can't imagine having the things
that he has written about rolling around in my
mind all the time.
SPOOKY!
Thank you Mr. King for your contribution
to the world.

intelligent, creative, cheeky, funny, soulful,
pragmatic, loving, and compassionate
as you, I will die a happy man.

Joke'n Quote Friday♥Week #6

After an elderly couple starts getting forgetful, they visit their doctor. Their doctor tells them that many people find it useful to write themselves little notes.

When they get home, the wife says, "Dear, will you please go to the kitchen and get me a dish of ice cream? And maybe write that down so you won't forget?" "Nonsense," says the husband. "I can remember a dish of ice cream." "Well, I'd also like some strawberries and whipped cream on it," the wife replies. "My memory's not all that bad," says the husband. "No problem -- a dish of ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream. I don't need to write it down." He goes into the kitchen, and his wife hears pots and pans banging. The husband finally emerges from the kitchen and presents his wife with a plate of bacon and eggs. She looks at the plate and asks, "Hey, where's the toast I asked for?"

Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he
were your father. Treat younger men as brothers,
older women as mothers, and younger women
as sisters, with absolute purity.
I Timothy 5:1-2

Original Song/Poem Thursday♥Week #6

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do,
do all to the glory of God.
I Corinthians 10:31
(these are bananas with green jackets on, not corn..:)

Banana Dirt Delight

Her legs were straight and skinny
The insides didn't touch
Her mom would get quite mad at her
The girl would not eat much.

How 'bout some peanut butter
A pickle or some bread
All the food that mom would bring
The girl would shake her head.

I have a good suggestion
The mom said "This will work"
Get ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise
And put them in the dirt.

Get some old bananas
The ones so soft and black
And roll them in the mixture
And see if she likes that.

Her brothers and her sisters
Made Banana Dirt Delights
Their skinny legged sister
Ate her fill of grub that night.

And now the mom is happy
Sis found a food she liked
There's nothing like the crunch
Of a Banana Dirt Delight.

Johnny Depp
A good name is better than fine perfume,
and the day of death better than the day of birth.
Ecclesiastes 7:1

When I was researching signatures, I came
across Johnny Depp's and I found
myself trying to make rhyme and reason
of his signature. Apparently, our signatures
can reveal a lot about who we are and what
is going on in our heads. I am really not sure
what is going on in Johnny Depp's head from this
signature.
Johnny was born June, 1963. He is in his 50's now.
Lucky guy. He is an extremely talented actor
and an artistic soul.
Thank you Johnny for your contribution to the world.

Original Song/Poem Thursday♥Week #5

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of
the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with
seed in it. They will be yours for food.
Genesis 1:29

Cellulite Butt Pumpkins

Come to my store
I have something to sell
Cellulite Butt Pumpkins
They don't even smell

I know they're not pretty
Light orange and not smooth
But Cellulite Butt Pumpkins
Can decorate too.

Put them on tables
And on your front step
Take them to work
And place on your desk.

Carve goofy faces
A cat or a ghoul
With wrinkles and pimples
It will make people drool.

So come buy some pumpkins
I'll sell them half price
Make pumpkin time special
With some Butt Cellulite!

Lassie
A happy heart makes the face cheerful....
Proverbs 15:13a

Lassie was a collie dog. When I was growing up, I
couldn't wait to watch "Lassie" the TV show.
Wikipedia reports that the show aired from
1954-1973.
Lassie was an AWESOME dog and she always
saved someone every week from peril.
The character of Lassie was created by Eric Knight.
Thank you Eric Knight for creating a character
that I still love even today.
Your contribution makes me happy.

Do not store up for yourself treasures on earth……store up

Matthew 6:19-21

The Cayenne Man

The Cayenne Man
Made from a can
Hanging from a wall
Got forks for his hands

Got a silly grin
Don’t have no chin
Pepper shaker top hat
Hottest of men

Two ounce honey
Might sound funny
Seems too small
He don’t cost much money

Put him in a sack
My homey’s on my back
I’ll hang him on my wall
Yeah, another knick knack!

Norman Rockwell

Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace
and the things by which one may edify another.
Romans 14:19

Norman Rockwell (February 3, 1894 – November 8, 1978)
I have always loved the paintings and drawings of Norman Rockwell. His work was and remains wholesome and inspiring to folks. I read that he was married 3 times. His first marriage ended in divorce. His second wife died of a heart attack. He was married to his third wife until he died in 1978. An interesting note: Mr. Rockwell underwent psychiatric treatment to which his analyst Erik Erikson, told the artist that he painted his happiness, but did not live it.
It seems to me that very creative people give so much of themselves through their work, they often suffer from the loss with unhappiness and depression.
How sad.
I would like to thank Mr. Rockwell for his contribution to the world.

Original Poem/Song Thursday♥Week #3

The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy,
your whole body will be full of light.
Matthew 6:22

Your Eyes

I see your blue eyes
They are not ordinary blue eyes
They sparkle and shine
They hypnotize
They are magnets to your soul

You will only ever see your eyes through reflective glazes
In a mirror
In a pond
In a posted snap shot
You are unable to see your REAL eyes

Trust me.....They are beautiful.
Trust me.....They are good.
Trust me because I wouldn't lie about something
As beautiful as your eyes.

Eyes created by God, not for YOU to see, but
Created as a gift to show the world how
Simply beautiful eyes can be.

Alfred Hitchcock
....there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries.....
Daniel 2:28

Mr. Hitchcock (13 August 1899 – 29 April 1980)
was known as the "Master of Suspense".
I LOVE to watch his movies. I remember growing
up and my mom telling me that in all of his
movies he made cameo appearances. I watched
them all to find where he was in each show.
I can't pick a favorite movie, because there
are so many that he did. Here are a few:
Rear Window (1954)
  • Vertigo (1958)
  • North by Northwest (1959)
  • Psycho (1960)
  • The Birds (1963)
  • WOW....he did A LOT while he was on this earth.

    Love never fails.
    I Corinthians 13:8

    YOU

    Your breath stinks
    So do your feet
    Your hair is greasy
    Your arm pits reek.

    You're short and fat
    You eat too much
    You're hairy all over
    You slobber after lunch.

    You're not too smart
    In fact, you're kinda dumb
    You hit the walls

    I want you to get
    I LOVE YOU SO MUCH

A police officer pulls over a driver and informs him that he has just won $5,000 in a safety competition, all because he is wearing his seat belt.

"What are you going to do with the prize money?" the officer asks.

The man responds, "I guess I'll go to driving school and get my license."

His wife says, "Officer, don't listen to him. He's a smart aleck when he's drunk."

The guy in the back seat pops up out from under the blanket and says, "I knew we wouldn't get far in this stolen car."

Just then a knock comes from the trunk and a voice calls out, "Are we over the border yet?"

David and all Israel were celebrating with all their might

{in my opinion, if they had a violin/fiddle, they would have
    been playing that as well}
    T:)

    Violin or Fiddle?

Some call this thing a violin
    And others say a fiddle
It’s not that they are different
    Well, maybe just a little.

    A violin is played sometimes
    When opera singers sing
A fiddle player stomps his feet
    When bluegrass music rings.

    A violin is carried
On a crushed blue velvet bed
    A country fiddle rides inside
    A burlap bag instead.

    But one thing to remember
And this one thing is grand
    They both sound very beautiful
    In gifted people’s hands.

May the gift YOU possess bless others todayJ
